Inspections are conducted Monday - Friday. A 24-hour telephone Inspection Request System is available at (810) 664-2158 and recordings are checked each day by 9:00 a.m. This line is for recorded inspection requests only. Call the Township Offices at (810) 664-0821 to speak directly with Building Department personnel during the Department's regular hours. Please provide 24-hour notice for an inspection.
Building
In most cases, a Zoning Permit must be obtained from the Planning & Zoning Department prior to the issuance of a Building Permit. All applications for zoning permits must be accompanied by plans and specifications, including a plot plan drawn to scale.
Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals applications are reviewed and issued by the Mayfield Township Planning and Zoning Department.
Building Department hours are Monday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Building Inspector's office hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical Inspectors are available by appointment.

John Ambrose, issues all zoning permits and is available Monday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Applicants are welcome and encouraged to meet with the Township Zoning Administrator prior to appearing before the Planning Commission or Zoning Board of Appeals.
